Billed as the largest, best preserved ancient German town, Rothenberg ob der Tauber certainly lived up the hype. We stayed in the family operated Gasthaus Butz, directly in the middle of town where we enjoyed the atmosphere and Bavarian food!

This pre-Christmas trip was very cold, with some snow falling at times, but this mostly enhanced the scenery and our desire to visit the heated shops and musuems.  We spent a few hours in the Rothenberg Criminal History musuem, but we took so many pictures that contrast so sharply with the quaint feeling of Rothenberg that we decided to give it a seperate album.
